Arthritis in Cats: What to Watch For and How You Can Help

As we age, many of us develop some level of discomfort from arthritis, the same holds true for our cats. It is estimated as many as 90% of cats age 12 or older suffer from some level of arthritis. Unfortunately, cats are masters of hiding pain, so it’s important to know signs to look for with arthritis in cats.  Here are some commons signs to watch for if you suspect your cat has arthritis:

  • He protests when you pick him up. Arthritis causes pain in joints, so being picked up can be physically painful for cats.
