The tournament was capped off with a showdown in the Little League Baseball World Series (LLBWS) between the Southeast and Asia-Pacific teams in which Lake Mary Little League out of Florida beat Kuei-Shan Little League out of Chinese Taipei 2-1 in extra innings. Florida pitcher Lathan Norton scored the winning run in the eighth after Chinese Taipei made an errant throw on a bunt.

The change in the World Series schedule due to rain meant Game 5 went up directly against a Thursday Night Football game between the NFL franchises of both World Series cities, in which the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Houston Texans, 29–17. Estimates from Nielsen Media Research showed the baseball game drew an average of five million more viewers, with a share of at least 50 in both Philadelphia and Houston. Meanwhile, the football game, originally scheduled to air on the Fox affiliates in both markets per NFL rules, moved to the MyNetworkTV affiliates in both markets.

Final Fantasy XV is a little strange because, despite having this huge world, it never really feels like it – not to mention that halfway through the story you completely abandon it until the postgame. We would gripe about the little things in this game all day, but one positive thing that can be said is that the world is utterly beautiful, with vibrant colors and incredible sites everywhere you look.
Though a pretty generic fantasy experience padded with repetitive actions and boxy, dated visuals, EverQuest was once a cutting-edge title. Those who do delve into this aging one-time great will be treated to a nearly-overwhelming 294 square miles of playable space.

Players can solve almost every problem with their weapons, wits, or wallet, but the game’s gray morality remains a constant challenge. Many otherwise excellently designed characters and organizations in Fallout games are either overly good or mustache-twirlingly evil, but New Vegas blindsides players by ensuring that nothing is quite as it seems. Flaherty was acquired in a trade with the Detroit Tigers midseason. He has gone 1-2 this postseason with a 7.04 ERA, following a tough Game 5 outing in the NLCS. In the 2024 regular season, Flaherty went 13-7 with a 3.17 ERA.

The Americans had a strong pitching staff, led by Cy Young, who went 28–9 in 1903 and became the all-time wins leader that year. Freeman launched the first pitch he saw from Cortes over the right field wall for the first walk-off grand slam in World Series history. As Freeman watched the ball soar into the Los Angeles night, it was reminiscent of Kirk Gibson’s famous walk-off home run in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series — Gibson was hobbled by injuries to both knees and didn’t start in that game but got the call to pinch-hit in the ninth against Hall of Fame closer Dennis Eckersley of the A’s.
