Vacation Planning Tips For Cats-Maximize Human Time Away

Cats take their vacation planning very seriously. Since the pandemic, we’ve been home much more, and our feline companions haven’t had the run of the house while many of us are away at work. Cats are masters of the art of relaxation and are always looking for ways to improve the experience.

Here are some tips to help your cat plan his staycation and make the most of your time away from the house.

With that thought in mind, The Devious Book for Cats: A Parody offers these tips to help your cat get the most out of his/her staycation:

Visit A Natural Wonder

Fortunately, cats don’t have to travel far to observe natural wonders. There’s one as close as the nearest bathroom. Toilets offer a wonderful waterfall effect just by climbing to the edge and using a paw to push the lever. Care should be taken not to fall in while observing the wonder that is the toilet flushing. The beautiful thing about it is that it can be observed thousands of times!

Go To The Beach

If the resident human is into crafts, it’s possible there is a sand garden complete with seashells and/or starfish in it. If so, carefully tip over the sand garden so the sand spreads nicely across the floor. It’s best if the spot is sunny so the sand will get warm.

Plan Some Culinary Adventures

With the resident humans gone, there will be a guest server providing meals. It’s best to treat the guest server well so they will provide great meals. Often, the guest server will provide super yummy meals that aren’t on the menu when resident humans are around. Make sure to tip generously to keep the great service coming.

One More Vacation Planning Tip: Catch Up On Reading

Cats and books have been associated for a long time, and vacation is a great time to catch up on reading. If a beach was created as described above, that makes a perfect place to read. Otherwise, pick a comfortable spot, grab a book and relax!

Still wondering what your cat will be doing while you’re on vacation?  We often think our cats are punishing us for being away, but after seeing these tips, it may be more a case of cats being upset we’ve returned to ruin their good time!
