Opposable Thumbs: What If Cats And Dogs Had Them?

Today is What If Cats And Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs Day.  Thought-provoking?  Maybe.  Funny, could be.

opposable thumbs

Think about all the things we use our thumbs for:  Gripping and holding objects like a pen or pencil, a coffee cup, can of beer or pop, holding a can while we open with a can opener, giving a thumbs up encouragement sign, texting, typing.

If you look at cats and dogs, they’ve actually figured out ways around not having thumbs, they actually seem to do pretty well.  For any tasks they cannot accomplish due to not having thumbs, they’ve trained us to handle it.

It’s often said a lack of opposable thumbs is all that’s standing between cats and world domination.  I think felines are already in charge, they’re just not bragging about it.

What would your cat or dog do if he had opposable thumbs?
